Last night my runner duck jumped out of my husband's arms and landed on the ground. His head then neck hit....then his body. He is eating and drinking minimally. He isn't standing straight up like normal. His neck is tucked in. I'm completely shaken over this and want to support him as best as possible. I've read over some of the foums but found conflicting info on NSAIDS. I cannot afford an exotic vet. What can I do to help the little guy? Any advise is appreciated

I'm sorry to hear this :( Hopefully, he didn't hurt himself too badly.

Ducks are resilient, but accidents do happen. They are also good at hiding things. I would keep him in a dog crate or some other sort of containment, where he can't move around too much, and watch him closely. Let him rest and have access to plenty of water and food. He's probably bruised and/or sprained, depending on the height he fell from.

Hopefully, all he needs is a bit of quiet time to heal up.

I'm sure someone with more experience than me will have better insight into what to do.

He is laying down and resting now
