Injured leg

From watching that vet in Miami that does exotic pets that is all they use is gas must be the safest way. I am sure there are still risk just like with anything.
Did you see the episode where they used gas on the rooster to trim his spurs and he died? That episode made me wonder how safe the gas is.

What a nice little area for them. :love

Thanks! Yes, one of the first bits of landscaping in the garden! They don’t spend too much time there usually, too busy exploring the garden. But at least they have a nice area to be cooped up in for the week while Frank’s leg (hopefully!) gets better

Wow!! I have never seen ANY duck "coop" that has a Japanese Maple adding to the feel! A landscaped duck coop. What will people think of next?
I totally applaud your efforts and sense of garden design!

Anesthesia is more tricky in birds than mammals, and there is always some risk even in them. If it were me, I'd be looking for a vet that sees birds regularly.

Yes, been trying to find one locally - not much bird experience among ours. But one of the veterinary nurses has ducks herself so knows quite a bit. We’re just seeing how he responds to rest first

Ha ha! Thanks! We actually added that a few weeks ago - don’t know why we didn’t do it years ago It’s an Acer. But as this area is the first thing people see when they come into our gate, we wanted it to look nice. We don’t normally have the netting up, that is just to keep Frank in while he recovers. They usually have free range of the garden during the day and then are locked up in their house at night.
