Injured Pekin Duck Bill

I have only just seen this thread.

Might I suggest -- I hope I am not too late -- that you feed your injured drake with ducky soup? Put his ration of crumbles or pellets -- pellets work just as well -- in a deep bowl and add water -- stir in and keep adding until the soup is very liquid. There should be sediment on the bottom but liquid on top. You duck will be able to slurp up the soup. He will bring up as much of the sediment as he can process through his injured beak. It will be messy -- he will get food stains down his neck! But he will be able to eat.

I have a special needs pekin drake with a damaged bill from a raccoon attack. It's not as badly deformed as your ducks bill. Mine can manage pellets in a deep bowl but he much prefers ducky soup

please update us on how your boy is getting on. The image is a 2 qt molded rubber feeding bowl -- I use this for ducky soup for my injured duck and a larger one for pellets for my flock.
