I was cleaning the coop out yesterday and during that I noticed one of my Red's limping. I picked her up and looked at the foot to see if the got a thorn from the recently cut rose bush in it. Nothing. I was feeling both feet to make sure she did not have anything that felt out of the ordinary. Checked on her this morning and her middle toe about midway down is swollen and bruised. She is favoring the other leg but is reacting to my presence and eating/drinking as normal, attempting to run around. It's just brusing around that one knuckle. She was falling asleep as I was rubbing her foot yesterday so I don't think it's broken. Should I try to splint it?

She likely bumped it. If it's been a couple of days and she's able to move around and get to food/water, personally, I would leave it alone. Hens will generally self limit activity when injured.
