Injury or something caused by bugs?

It looks like a pecking injury. Can you see any bugs in the dried blood? Is this a hen? Do you have a rooster who tried to mate her, or hens who have been picking on her? BluKote can be sprayed on the red to mask the injury, but you can also separate her inside a dog crate or pen with food and water. It can be treated with chlorhexidene and water, Vetericyn, soap and water, or a similar treatment. Plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment works as well.
