Input needed. Aftercare for a hen post egg binding incident.

This is the best I could do for now. She was pissed. Also she went straight for the oyster shell when I put it in her cage. The arrow points to what is attached to inside of her vent or further in her body.

That doesn't look like viable tissue, I would remove it. There's probably more inside, so try to get that out too.

Will do. Thank you.
I’m sorry she’s not doing well. :(

I’m curious why you would make your animals adhere to your religious beliefs? I have a lot of friends & family who have strong religious values. None of my Jewish friends have ever made their pets observe Passover. None of my Catholic friends have ever made their pets give up something for Lent. None of my Mormon friends have ever made their pets fast at the beginning of the month. Even I, as a strict vegetarian, do not make my carnivorous animals eat a vegetarian diet.

Don’t take this the wrong way, I’m genuinely curious, because I’ve never known anyone to do this before. By your own words, it makes you and your animals unhappy, so why force them into a lifestyle that they did not choose & that is unhealthy for them?

I too think that her vent needs a good warm soak & I hope you can save her.:fl
So for Orthodox Jews on Passover one is not allowed to benefit from leavened bread or barley, wheat, and like 3 other grains. Since we benefit from our pets either from the products they produce or the emotional bond (dogs, cats, etc) we can not feed them food containing grain. If we were to feed them their feed over Passover we wouldn’t be able to use the eggs on Passover or after Passover. I believe that even feeding raw unprocessed grains is a problem because they may have gotten wet...I don’t remember all the intricate details in that regard. Religion can be complicated.

@Brahma Chicken5000, I'm not sure what it is, whatever it is, it needs to be removed. If you leave it in there she could get an infection.
Getting tweezers now. If it won’t release should I cut it close to the vent or try to pull it out (possibly risk bleeding)?

Would you be allowed to feed the birds chicken and or eggs next time?

Oh I totally forgot I fed them that also. I usually don’t feed my chickens chicken, but my Leghorn pullet literally mugged by dad when he was trying to get the dog inside and stole the bag of chopped chicken and alas the whole flock ate chicken.

The wild bird seed is really bothering me.
