Input please!

This morning the “bubble” is down but the crop feels full yet and I haven’t put any food in the brooder yet. I massaged the crop some in hopes that I may have been able to move some stuff around in there. Water consumption is great and Schrodie doesn’t smell like anything but antibiotic ointment, no sour odor. All I have offered by way of food is chick starter that is made into more of a mash and the occasional dabble of scrambled egg with no seasoning. If anyone has any input, I would appreciate it. We are still battling pasty butt even though I have put Vaseline on the butt under the vent. Poor kid looks like a drown rat because Schrodie is VERY diligent about preening, which drags ointment from the wing area ALL over🤦‍♀️
thank you all who follow this journey of this baby and take the time to chime in❤️

The ball is food. Don’t feed him too much, or that will happen. Not very dangerous. Water will make it go down.

Final update in the Schrodie story:
Schrodie was struggling to breathe, was incredibly high in temperature, and could not lift up her head or acknowledge me. At 730 pm this evening, I took Schrodie outside to see the sun, to feel the grass under her feet and to smell the fresh air. I thanked her for teaching me so much and apologized for her pain and suffering. She went over the rainbow bridge shortly after and is buried in one of my favorite spots on the property. Thank you all so very much for your input, your kind words and your encouragement! I am beyond grateful for learning about this website through this process and look forward to being able to reference it in the future❤️ With a lump in my throat and a quiver on my lip, I know I did everything I know how and every day she told me she wanted to keep going I kept at it. She just told me today that she didn’t have enough fight left.

I’m so sorry. :hugs

But I do want to thank you very much for taking care of her in what you could, and giving her the best life possible. ❤️

Sending much love your way, Jacloh.

On a light note, I have 8 beautiful chicks and an incredibly amazing mother hen who grace my barnyard and I am grateful for that ❤️

Schrodie was very lucky to have you as her person. You gave her the best life she could have, albeit a short one. I am literally sitting here crying with you. ❤️
