I was wondering what color people paint the inside of their coops?
Does it affect the chickens if the color is too bright? Or is it better to leave it unpainted inside? I thought it might be easier to clean if it's painted but would like to know what common the practice is.

All of my coops are red and white, only because red and white are traditional "farm" colors to me. I dont think it matters one way or the other...

Using a light color will make the coop lighter inside. And you are right, painting will make it easier to clean.

I just bought a gallon of paint at wal-mart today to paint the inside. It was $16.97 a gallon- semi-gloss exterior. Summer Rye is the color. (kinda beige-ish color)

For easy clean up of the inside of the chicken coop floor (in theory anyway!) I used a sheet of vinyl of the type that you might find in you shower say. I have the outside of the coop barn red, but after reading these posts on what people paint the interiors of their coops I just might have to go pick up more paint! [IMG]
