Inside or out

New guy here. I am in the process of building a chicken coop section by section in the basement and will put it all together in the back yard. It will be 8x6 on 2 foot 4x4 legs. That is as far as I have got.
I am sure I will have alot of questions in the next few days,but right now do I feed the chicks inside
or out side of the coop?

I like to feed outside of the coop. I have no real reason for this other than that is what I do...lol. I am sure others will feel differently.

I feed outside too. That's were they are almost all day. I think they can get through the evenings when they're sleeping very well without food and water and it's less to clean up in the coop.

Inside feeding station. Very small footprint, stays dry and protected.
The only feeding station during inclement weather...
Feeds about a dozen birds.
Grit, feed, and oyster shells.

I feed inside just because there is not a good covered area that I can get to out side to keep feed dry in wet weather. I hate having to dump out feed and scrub the feeder because it got wet. Inside I know it will stay dry.

Yes, surely weather is an important consideration.

My run is fully covered and our weather is dry and generally pretty mild.

My main feeder is inside as we get a lot of rain. I feed fermented feed outside since it doesn't matter if it gets wet, and it also gets the chickens to spread out between the feeders.

Inside. It keeps feed dry and water at an even temperature. It is better to have raised, hanging waterers so they don't get soiled with bedding material. In the summer I put a waterer outside, too, and that's where I feed them greens and other scraps since they can stink up a coop.

My main feeder is in the run. My run is covered and my feeder is also weather resistant by design (pvc elbows in lidded Rubbermaid tub "no waste" style feeder). This preserves my inside space. My water station (lidded bucket with "cup" style drinkers) is outside in the run as well except for the coldest days in winter when i need to plug in the deicer.
I brood in the coop....so actual chicks are fed inside the coop in thei brooding section until they are fully integrated and using the big feeder and waterer
