How does this design look?

I decided to re-do my roost and put in a droppings board.

The board is 24" wide and made with FRP panel. It's about 8' long.

Next project will be to build 3 nest boxes under half the droppings board, and I think I will build a broody box under the other half.

I need to build about 3-4 more feet of roost space and droppings board on the other side of the coop.

Thanks for looking!

Excellent Job !I too have just discovered "dropping boards" They make cleaning up alot easier and plus I am not putting alot of shavings into the composter or gardens....

Okay, I can't figure out what an FRP panel is. What is it?

if I'm right , but by the looks of it in the pic. it looks like a counter top that one would use in there kitchen , easy to clean , washable , won't rot as quickly as wood if it got wet

just my 2 cents worth

Yeah, it's like a whiteboard material or something you could use in a shower surround. Very easy to clean and it's water resistant. I had a sheet of it sitting around from another project.

It would be nice to use inside the nest boxes, if the hens don't mind the white glare. I wasn't sure that they'd like it to be tooooo bright.

They walked on it OK. I didn't see any slipping at all. If that ends up being a problem, I could make it a droppings tray by building short sides and then put some wire over the top to keep them off of the FRP.

Also I'm going to put a lower roost type board for them to hop onto before jumping up to the top roost. A little ladder over at the side might not be a bad choice...

what about placing a very thin layer of pine shaving on the drop boards then all ya have to do is clean the board as needed and this will help if there are slipping
