Ok, got the nest boxes finished.

And built a second roost/droppings board on the other side for extra roost space. It will be handy to keep the food/water under this one.

Now I just need to build the broody box, and I'm done! Whew!!!

I do wish I was more of a painter. You cute little painter types would make this thing look a whole lot prettier... Alas, I just like to build.

ETA: The poop board is scraping off clean, but OH MY the chickens are tracking in a lot of dirt! Wow!!

Oh my you sure work FAST!!! When exactly do you sleep?
It sure looks very nice and so clean. And I like the way it is now--unpainted.

Is that plain old grass in the boxes??
Do they actually use the cinder block as a step?? Smart chickens:)

Thanks! The second roost/table was a LOT easier to build...

Is that plain old grass in the boxes??

It's hay... Essentially, plain old grass, but dry.

Do they actually use the cinder block as a step??

They do! I need to build them a ladder or a cute 'lil step.

It's 7x7 (finished dimension), there are 14 in there now, two are bantams, two are large fowl, and the other ten are medium size layers. So on average about 3.5 sq. ft. each.
