Installing auto door in hardware cloth

Has anyone installed an auto chicken coop door in hardware cloth? If so, can you tell me how you did it and how it works, please? Thanks!

I have not done this.

The thought that occurred to me was to build two wooden frames, one for either side of the HC and screwed together. The door could then be mounted on the outside much the same as if you had wooden walls.

Probably depends on what type of door you’re using.

I installed a RunChicken door in HC on my human door to coop. Used a simple wood frame behind, stapled to the HC, then attached the door sandwiching the HC. Was pretty straightforward, but I did space mine with washers so the door wouldn’t hit the HC in case of some misalignment over time (two washers at top, one in center, none at bottom)
