We had a chick who hurt her leg stay inside while she healed and now that it’s time to go back outside, the flock bullies her. Is their anyway to help ease her into them? Or am I stuck with a permanent house chicken? (Not that’d I’d mind :p)
Here’s a picture of miss Ruby enjoying her nap on the sofa!

Ruby is faking it so she can reclaim her spot on the sofa.

Kidding aside, absence has caused Ruby to lose her rank in the flock and the flock is now serving notice to her they have been getting along just fine, thank you very much, without her. So they're going to give her a hard time until she slips back into the lineup somehow.

If Ruby is the timid sort, and is more inclined to may love, not war, she might benefit from gradual reintegration using a safe pen. This is accomplished as I have written in this article about integrating a single new chicken into the flock. It takes time, but it's much easier on chickens that are not wild about engaging in conflict. https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/introducing-a-single-hen-to-an-existing-flock.71997/
