Ridgerunner- Thanks for taking the time to type it all out. I went ahead and let them all free range together a few days ago and they seem to be doing pretty good. I just have to be careful first thing in the morning when they all make a rush for the water and feed, otherwise the big ones will chase the others off (even after they've had their fill!). I was more comfortable after I saw my SLW cockerel and my Cuckoo cockerel gang up on one of the big girls, though. Not mean, just sticking up for themselves. They left her alone as soon as she backed down. As a side note- I think I'm getting too attached to the cockerels considering that I'm not allowed to have roosters.
I keep telling myself that they will taste good but I don't think I believe it anymore.
