I was doing some research on different mutations from all the talk we've been having about different coturnix and bobwhite colours lately, and found this scholarly article that claims to have successfully hybridized coturnix with chickens, and makes reference to other studies which have done the same:

Apparently A and B were the parents and C and D were the offspring (why they would use a naked neck I have no idea lol)
They claim that they AI a hen coturnix with sperm from a rooster, and it produces sterile offspring, but produces no offspring if a chicken is inseminated with sperm from a male quail.
What do you think?
