Interesting Craigslist Encounters.

I've had many, many, many craigslist sales over the years. Most went great. Made great friends and contacts from some. And had to tell a couple to leave and don't come back. Had some never call back, never show up, show up very late, show up very early. I think I've truly seen it all now. But the best story to date is this.

I had two ladies show up once to buy a donkey. They looked him over and decided to take him. They wanted to know if I had any other animals for sale so I showed them around. They ended up buying the donkey, two goats, and 12 chickens. As I am loading them up to deliver them, one of the ladies looks me straight in the face and asks "What do donkeys eat?" I thought it was a joke and said "Cabbages...Lots of cabbages". And she said "Ok, thanks". Oh my gosh she was serious! So I had to fill them in. Turns out these ladies had just moved here "very rural NW MO'' from Chicago. Not like suburbs either, like center of Chicago. And bought a farm and were just starting out. Were actually great friends now and I've helped them build up a pretty nice working farm in the last 6 years.

But that story still tops my "Craigslist Crazies" list.

Just shaking my head here...

I once met bought a goat from someone off CL who was either cheap or clueless. She fed her dogs, cats, goats and horses CAT FOOD!  It was the cheap stuff, too.

The goat turned out to be pregnant, luckily the kids were fine.
Thank goodness you rescued them. It's a shame that animals suffer due to the (sometimes willful) ignorance of people.
