Interesting crooked beak (not cross-beak)

Hey BYC fam!
So I’ve got an interesting girl (pictured) who has a fully crooked beak. It’s not a cross beak, it’s just all slanted to one side. It’s pretty dramatic, I’ve never seen anything like this before that wasn’t actual cross beak, wonder if anyone else has? She’s a red sex link (Novagen) from the hatchery. She’s about 2 months old or so. I noticed it a few weeks ago. She’s not underweight at all, and she eats just fine. It’s not causing any issues, ad she doesn’t get picked on. I just thought it was interesting

Interesting. Mine like that get it from an injury in the egg or right after hatching, but I don't see any remodeling on her

I've seen it before, and it generally seemed to be associated with a skull/facial deformity - sometimes associated with eye socket problems. Such birds seem to do fine.

yeah, just seems to have formed that way for whatever reason

i was thinking it was prob just a deformity, too. Her eyes seem to be fine, thankfully. And im happy it doesnt cause her any eating problems, or get picked on. I breed/hatch out some of my chicken eggs, but since these are Novagens, i didnt plan on it with them. so thats good at least!
