Interesting Monsterquest Tonight

There are some of the shows that are just plain idiotic.

The good episodes are worth watching though.
Generally I watch Ghost Hunters at 8 on Wednesdays but the American Werewolf show intrigued me.

A serious investigation would involve weeks or months in the area, getting to know the locals, spending long nights outside waiting for something to happen.

I look at these shows as entertainment only.

I have a monster proublem, its under ground and is making a mess of my yard.....Must be the mole people......

I agree that Monsterquest is for entertainment only. I dont believe they did serious investigations. As deb1 said, something like that would take a long time. I believe Destination Truth is along the same lines as Monsterquest.

I have seen some very strange things out hunting. We once saw an Emu running down a gravel road here in Missouri, we asked around and there were no known farmers around raising Emu's. We joked about "The biggest Turkey we ever saw". My father had a cast he took of a cougar pawprint twenty years before the State Conservation Dept. confirmed any in the state. I have seen one of those mysterious big black cats people claim to see, it wasn't a cougar or domestic tabby. There are little known and misplaced animals out there!

I am on a message board with Adam and let me tell you, he has some hair raising stories. He himself is extremely frightened at times, so I definitely believe there is something that lives in his area.

He is bent on finding out what these things are and getting some footage. He has recorded howls I have listened to, eeeeesh they are scary sounding for sure. Does NOT sound like a human faking a howl either.

"shivers"

I DO believe what Adam Davis is saying, how he describes things rings as truth to me,IMO.
Even in this short thread, CoopCrazy came forth with a sighting and I wasnt there for my daughters experience but it sure scared the heck out of her.
thndrdancr, where could I hear some more of Adams stories on this? I think of all the strange things out there, this is the one that intrigues me the most.

I think that the reason that some of these sightings hit a nerve with people is that the witnesses seem genuinely sincere and not crazy. That doesn't mean that they didn't misinterpret what they saw, just that they appear to be telling what they believe is the truth.

I missed the American Werewolf episode (was playing God of War) but I had heard they were featuring the Michigan Dogman and the Gable films. The online versions of the films disappeared from a lot of places including the Michigan Dogman website, and the claim was that police had confiscated it.

Did they definitively prove the Gable films to be a hoax? I've seen both films online and the second certainly looked crocked up to me. I know they typically have a lack of evidence for something to exist, but I haven't often seen them say with certainty that something is a hoax on the show.

Did they have more focus on werewolves in Michigan? The last werewolf episode claimed to have Michigan werewolf stories but the episode only had a half a story out of Michigan that took a minute to tell.

Werewolf stories interest me in general even if the reality of changing from one thing to another is a 9 mile stretch. The Dogman stories have had my interest for a while simply because I live in the same area these creatures supposedly live in. The Legend of the Dogman song is definitely an eerie song that can get you into a Halloween/ creepy night mood. I prefer the '97 version to the more recent version of the song. It just has a creepier vibe to it.

Edited to add this: The guy who wrote the Legend of the Dogman song admits the hoax and claims that Monsterquest had nothing to do with the "uncovering" of the hoax.

On this one they actually did have them searching a little bit more in Michigan. But again, its not a very extensive search, its hard to take completely seriously, even if they got a good start.
deb1, I think you are right about things like this striking a nerve. Most people want everything safe, explained, nothing that might rock their little world. I notice the reaction is either defensive or they try to laugh about it. If that makes them feel better, so be it.
(My parents are like this)
From the episode it looks as if they have definitely proved the Gable film as a hoax. But its only one of many, many stories.
Ferrret, as I said earlier on, Linda Godfrey, a respected journalist, has written two books about Manwolves and is working on the third one. They are eye openers for sure.
