Can I use a ball of clay in the incubator and put the thermometer probe inside that instead of a water weasel to know the internal temperature of the eggs? Or is there something else that would work better and serve the same purpose? Thanks.

I've heard t hat may work but I wouldnt trust it. Too dense IMO. I have used a ziplock back filled 1/4 with water, tied off with a rubber band with a digital outdoor thermometer probe wedged between the folds. I've got a water wiggler now that I bought off Amazon.com and it works great.

I use an actual chicken egg, I blow out the yolk and rinse it out with rubbing alcohol..I then had water and hot glue my temp probe inside it...works great to tell you the internal temp of an egg. I don't know how it could get any simpler than that.

I made a water wiggler using my food saver and hair gel. I made it about 4inches wide and rolled it up . Held it together with duck tape. I inserted the probe in it. It works great.
