Pele our lead Buff 9 month old Silkie hen seems distressed . She is irritable to her flock ,appears uncomfortable and usually she likes to be pet, not the last few days though. Her vent is wet yet upon obervation I cannot see anything else. Good chance that she passed greyish fecal matter. It was near her but I did not see her pass it. We did notice a liquidity matter coming out from her though but cannot tell the color as it gets absorbed in pine shavings. She keeps trying to clean/peck her behind area/vent. I always have all of them on ACVdaily, use DE in coop, clean them every morning and during day water cged at least 2 x so it is fresh and clean. I am here so I can observe alot of their behavior. I believe she is laying an egg still but no proof as she is one to drop and leave it to get food or whatever. They are given local bananas but not everyday as they get loose brown /watery stools from it.I leave a percentage of shavings in there each time to build up their bacteria. They are not free range but use their run.Cabbage chopped each morning some of it local I remove all parts that have even a dot of discoloration. I am concerned as I sprout wheat berries for them and they eat it average 2 times a week. The other day I noticed too late possibly that there were small fly type insectgs in the sprouter that was due to be cleaned out. What can I give all of them that is as NATURAL as I I can get? I did finely mince fresh garlic for them and mixed into their cabbage this morning . Before they started laying the had it in their food once daily.I stopped so egg production would not pick up the taste. Also Pele's appetite seems normal.
