So Rita (my columbian wyandotte) laid last week three eggs that had blood inside...no big deal things happen, I thought, then she laid perfect eggs for 3 more days with a day as a break in between. Well her eggs are not perfect they always have a bump in them.
At any rate she has been laying down for the last 5 days (I was out of town) and not really eating much I think...but definitely not laying any eggs (I know what hers look like)
Thinking she may be egg bound I gave her 2 bathes today and sat with her on my lap with a heating pad. Gave her abdomen massages towards her vent. I've had her separate all day and she pecked at some scrambled eggs and scratch- had a bit of vitamin water but not much else.
Her comb is bright red and she is sleepy, breathing a little heavy but not with open beak.
Her crop is almost empty. She's laying down next to me now and I don't know what to do to help her.....
