Internal Pipping

I have locked them down and stopped turning them as of last night, but my humidity is around 75%, would you say that’s too high for now?
If there are no external pips you can take it down to 70% for now.

75 is ok. They should hatch fine. I wouldn't fiddle with it. Or you run the risk of it dropping too low.

I hatched my first ducklings last month after a couple years doing chicks. I had shadowing starting on a Tuesday pm (day 22). Internal pips on Thursday pm/Friday (day 24/25), external pips Friday pm- Saturday (day 25-26), all hatched within a 12 hour window on Sunday (day 27). It was about 36 hour from pip-zip.

Hi, how are your eggs doing? I'm at pretty much the same stage as you, I have 6 eggs in the incubator and I'm on lockdown day 27. No external pips at all and I can't tell if they have internally pipped as I don't want to open the incubator. This is my 4th duck hatch and every one has been different which makes this so confusing but also a great challenge. My previous 3 hatches had all externally pipped by day 27 but this hatch not. In fact, my very first hatch when I got up in the morning to begin lockdown - the eggs had externally pipped overnight!
Fingers crossed for your hatch keep posting details to keep us informed.

Hi, thanks for your lovely message. So nice to speak to someone at a similar stage!

Mine are now on day 2 of lockdown and there are no signs of the eggs moving around and no noises yet so I’m guessing they still haven’t pipped internally. I’m wondering if I’ve had the temperature a little on the low side to be honest and they’re maybe a couple of days behind so I’m not worrying too much. There was definitely movement in all 3 when I last candled then before incubator lockdown. I’m a bit concerned about egg number 2 though as it’s quite different to the other two. It’s a larger egg and the duckling appears to be smaller. There is also less of an air sac. I’m wondering if number 2 might die in shell so I’m a bit gutted about that but staying hopeful.

Your current set sound very hopeful! Please keep me updated too! Isn’t it crazy how they’re all so different. Take care and thanks again for getting in touch.

Hi, same for me - day 2 of lockdown and no sounds or pipping. I think that my temperature has been a little on the low side as well.........and I also have one unusually large egg with wierd/small air cell.
I will post with updates as and when they happen.

Please continue to give details! I'm a little more than week away, and so much of what y'all are discussing is ringing true with some of my seven (different size airsacks, etc).

So please give some more detailed reports as this progresses (good or bad - hopefully not bad). Sometimes these threads peter-off, and I'm left just holding the popcorn...

:pop

Good luck to you both!!! (and everyone else that's nervously "sitting" on eggs!)

Aww thanks for your message! I hope we can all stay in touch throughout. It’s so nice to not feel so alone, surrounded by people who are learning, experienced and in the same boat!

I still haven’t heard anything or seen any movement yet and I’m using every bit of willpower in me to not check every 15 seconds! Haha! So tense right now.

Hi Sgt_P,
I will of course keep updating but sadly still nothing.
OMG - I've been staring at the incubator for so long I'm going crossed eyed!
Bedtime here soon so hopefully will have something more to report in the morning.
Let's hope that my little duckies will work hard overnight and that there will be some progress by tomorrow.
