I was only getting one or two pullet eggs a day. I put in a heatlamp to hopefully save the roosters from frostbite. I got 8 eggs yesterday and it didn't get above freezing.

So far they are looking good but we haven't had below 0 weather yet. We have been in the single digits though.Yeah adding artificial lighting will bring production back up. We use it when we have to as well for select brood pens when we need chicks early. I'm glad it is helping to save your birds from frostbite.

I want to move but my husband is not someone that likes change so we will probably be here forever. I don't like winter at all!That is still very cold. I'm hoping my two cockerels are spared frost bite but if they do get it, maybe it wont be too severe. Your winters sound brutal in your area, I would likely freeze to death. lol
