That is awesome! Makes me want to start hatching but I must wait. They are so cute! Praying you have a good hatch! So far I've got 4 people waiting to buy whatever I hatch. If it goes well enough, I'll keep hatching enough to build some more pens!

When your house feels like a barnyard. You got to love having a rooster in your kitchen crowing in the early morning hours! LolHe is doing so much better. I am not sure how long to keep him in here. I don't want him to open the spots up. I never seen so much blood from a live bird anyway. He might end up looking awful. Losing parts of his comb they look black. No big cuts just spots bleeding. One blade has a cut on it. It might heal up or it might fall off eventually. Idk
stunning marans chicks ,great bpdy type and lovely marking .your line star to breed true my dear friend .you have done great job with them to get them to this level .Bravo you should be very pround of youe self,
no bad he is on the first floor ,he can t complain can he ,I have an ayam chemani roo in the same condition (3 turkeys tried to kill him). he is on the first floor - unfinished and I enjoy to hear his crowing in the morning.
they are lovely .the cockerel has a stunning comb ..the Blue pullet is well chunky .and the BC pullet has a gorgeous copper .Update time. Boy have they grown. Almost 6 months old if I remember right. Seems like late teenagers who haven’t left their parents house yet being in with the silkies still.
Blue Copper hen: still nice and big, best shanks of the trio. Tidy, small tail and a lovely blue colour, though this hasn’t diluted the copper much.View attachment 3401982View attachment 3401983View attachment 3401985Black copper: As awful as ever, legs faded a little but still obviously yellow, white patches in foot feathers and just lost white in her tail. Head shape not as good in my opinion, though I’m no expert. A but leaner than the blue.

And Loki, coming along very well, early to crow and already treading. My concern was his tail, as it seemed too tall earlier in the week, though now looking at it it isn’t as tall as I thought, though still held too high. All colours filling in well, and his comb now holds up. Still got a bit of reddening but getting there - I hope that pale spot on his earlobes goes away.View attachment 3401980 View attachment 3401977View attachment 3401986View attachment 3401991
As always, any comments welcome.
Thanks
the SOP call for the average of the 21 eggs laid by the pullet .because the know the eggs will be different from each other .after the first 2 months of laying you will see the eggs shape start to be uniform . they are lovely any way .Now I am so confused! The two top eggs are the original. I found the one on the plate lower right today. It was on the ground behind the feeder. Is it the same hen as top 2 eggs but she is now laying eggs that are not as round?
great news than ,that will help you to pay for the feed .keep the best one for your self .So far I've got 4 people waiting to buy whatever I hatch. If it goes well enough, I'll keep hatching enough to build some more pens!
