no need trap nest just find a large cage and isolate any hens you want to check her out one week will be enough .large cage is always handy to have .

if I remember what you said long time ago about JR .he has a narrow body and X legs .
if tat is correct about him than he was very dominant breeder in the mating .he manage to pass down his fault to almost or all his sons not sure yet about his daughters .
correct me if I m wrong just trying to find out that all .

Yes. Narrow and X legs.
Many of MS cockerels are
x legged.

I went out to find this guy and there are 2 that are very similar. I can't tell which one he is.

This is the boy I was talking about solid straight legs well spaced .
His name is GreatSong
He has all the traits we are looking for. Body type
Long back
Good legs
Good head and eyes
Good tail early feathering type
Nice plumage

Let see how he grow up because he will change , hope for the good

This one is great too he has better leg feathering but he was not the one. I notice in the photo maybe he was the one standing next to him .
You name this one .
We have 2 to keep eyes on hope we will blessed to see them grow up healthy and turn up to be great looking cockerels .
I m confident now to say LS is a dominant breeder if she will be pair to a good rooster she will throw some show quality birds for sure .

Yes you can do that if they are obvious X legs.
Keep few extra than we need just to see the expression of other traits . Brother s will express them selves differently I did highlighted that in a previous post with my 4 roosters true brothers .

@Punkybrewster here a good advice for your 3 new cockerels . Pen them with the older selected hens like MS , LS and the others . They will mature earlier and learn manners so we can breed from the them earlier .
