International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

When we work with bird we have to bare in mind of the mutation too .that why we have a lot bird varieties.

Observing .taking not. multiplying the chooks. hatching as many chicks , keeps as many of them a live to adult hod as possible .

one step at the time.

one rooster + one hen = a person can go a long way .just with a descent breeding program BUT we can not breed a crow from a Eagle .

we only can do what the nature allow as to do.

Go for a Silver cuckoo or a Black copper marrans. genetically diverse .

my friend the Genetic is not just a few world , actually is a building block of the nature.

I mentioned before in early subject ,its is better to mate the hen to her grand son and the father to his grand daughter .

We have to breed for a long period and establish lines ,so can tell what is the make up of our chooks .

there is many way to go around t.

to start we have to cross back to the father or the mother and creating a cockerels line /pullets line.

if we do that ,than slowly we reinforce the trait we looking for.

We have to tray and Do to get there. we can not sit and speculate.we don t go no where.

here a quotation from the French standard about the Flames on the hackle and lancet.
"
"some feathers especially in the lower part of the hackle and the lancets CAN BE more or less flambe ( flamed ) ."

it s well precise they CAN BE Flamed NOT HAVE TO BE .

if we want to achieve the proper red coppery hackle we must minimize the flame. Because the red copper promote the Melanin (excess Black ) so we can permit too much flames( like the salmon or the columbian roosters )

if we chose to have Flame than they have to be minimum and thin . only a thin black strip in the middle of the coppery feather without reaching the end of the feather and not wide ( THIN BLACK STRIP ) .

The end of each flamed feathers should coppery not black.
