most of the French breeders have separated they breeding flock .too hot. still few I know they have a few weeks more to go.

if is not for this season than prepare your self for the next year .I ll organize for some fertile eggs to be shipped to you. This are the elite Marans chooks as pure as they can get.

there is 2 way to get a splash color .
1) Splash X splash .
2) Blue X blue = 50% blue ,25% splash and 25% black


you are alright about the comb difference between BCM and Olive eager .

I live in salamina, it is near athens. we have ferry boat every 15 minutes, some people who live on the island work in athens.

I will have some broodies in september for sure. how many eggs can you provide? I might get a small incubator and pray as I have never even seen one.

Hi RedBank I remember that splash rooster , he he s a nice specimen , good type and great splash pattern.

no much you could do with him . a spalsh hen is better to be used for the crossing with a Black copper to produce 100% blue copper.because the color pattern is manly from the rooster and the type from the hems.
so you can chose a well marked BCM rooster X great type splash copper maran hen = you will get 100% blue copper nicely marked or most of them.

if you work with a splash rooster over a Black copper hens = you don t know what you getting = they will be Blue copper but not sure what pattern ?

Good to hear..... I won't wonder if I made a mistake there anymore. I still have the hen. One of my favorites.

Hi Chickengr don t worry in few years time you will have a gorgeous Marans chooks ,different varieties ,just prepare your self to receive as many egg as you want .

this year no much time left , I see what I can to tonight with Monique or Laurent from France for some BCM or SCM ( silver cuckoo maran ) let see if they pair a few chooks for me to send you a couple of dozen if possible,I ll come back to you soon with the answer .

BUT for the next year ,just prepare as many coop as you can ran .the incubator and the eggs are from me .leave that to me .

what is your favorite variety .
I can get you BC. SC .GC , Wheaten . BTB White maran .

take your time and organize what you need .
