Good Morning Everyone, I got my second egg and it looks exactly like the first. Nice and shiny, not real dark. CM, did you see my post about quantity versus color. What color would you expect on a hen laying nearly everyday?

there is always special creature in this world and the chooks are not exception .

I have 2 BCM hens ( all black ) they started with a 6 for a short while and stuck with a 5 ish for over a year ( all 3 managed to lay 280 /274/ 269 eggs mostly color 5 and 4 at the end last 50 eggs.

this sort of girl they have both world .dark egg gene and the laying ability . If I ll cross them to a rooster ho come out from egg 8 ( I do no have for a moment ) than I should have a good balanced progeny as F1

doen t mean a hen who lay less have a dark egg .

what that mean if 2 sisters have a same genes ( dark egg ) but one of them lay more then the other So the one who lay less will have a darkest eggs.

we only compere the chooks if they are related . so we can map the genes.

If you have a hens who are a good layer plus dark eggs ,than your have a gift . you have to use it .

I have Cream Legbar. I thought I would really like them, Jill Rees Line from England. I like the Marans better.

No they are not my type .

I ll work with them they need my help .I can not say no to my friend , they supported me all the way tell now.

I love marans .super rich breeds .a lot varieties .suit me very well .I like to do a lot of thing, So they are keeping me busy .

Hi every one .

today i got a phone call from AvGen poultry ( peoples who import the chooks from the UK ) telling me that my order of BCM ,BLCM and SCM going to be ready to picked up or delivered on the 1st of October .they will be 8 weeks old. they hatched 2 days ago .out of the hatcher ( fully vaccinated ).

the SCM are English strain ( so I have to rework them - convert them into French - )
BCM and BLCM are pure French strain razed in the UK .

all this imported strain are registered pure breed . they come with they papers ( flock breeders number in the UK ) so they could be trucked .

I m so pleased ;
I placed a big order.
4 cockerels and 4 pullets from each variety . 24 chooks at 8 weeks old.

very expensive and a great investment .

it is going to be a great addition to by flock .

this eggs are Kfelton0002 from cuckoo and white marans thread.

I thought they will be better here where they belong.

what the result ? you set them in the bator on 13/05 or something like that.

young marans chooks with this sort of green/blue eyes will have a gorgeous well colored eyes when Adult
