International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

I struggle every day. I want to let them out. They grumble at me every time I walk by. I can hear them saying, let us out...... what is going on around here...... why are you so late opening the door?

whenever I open my door my chickens think I am going to feed them and they start shouting, just like parrots, lol.

how many dogs have you got?

my friends are animal lovers too and they are angry with the farmers who shoot parrots. I just didn't feel like writing the full story.

lucky you for living in so much space. I must raise the pen (the sleeping part) so that my chickens can use space underneath. bedrooms are on the first floor, lol.

there is a lot of good people in this country are animal lover and they are doing they best to save them. BRAVO.

for you coop design I think it is a good idea to have they sleeping part in the first floor ( Bedroom ) living room down stairs .

I m thinking of doing a same thing in my new farm . I don have a lot space like the my actual rented farm .

Chooks Man, If I breed my BCM to the Cuckoos, will I get Silver Birchen? My BCM roos have very light leg feathering and my Cuckoos have none.

yeah you will get BUT it is not strait forward .

need to hatch a hundred at lease in the F2 progeny .

the original Birchen marans derive from the crossing you are talking about .( BCM rooster X Silver cuckoo hen )

Remember I asked you about my little mixed Olive Egger chicks (Cream Legbar X Marans hens). They all look like perfect Cuckoo Marans. They all have white skin, black shading on the front of the leg, leg feathering..... etc. How do you make a real Silver Cuckoo? Nevermind you already answered this!

Only Luna and now she is next door at my sisters all the time. My sister lives next door on 30 acres. I can't see her house. She has dogs and Luna is happier over there with them. I need another dog.
you need at least 3 dogs if you could fence the area around your chickens and put another fence around it (leaving the road size between fences) and keep hunting dogs free running there I don't think the predators would come near.

In my coops the roosts are high and the whole floor is the living room. I guess my coops are more of an aviary.
in my main coop I've made cage for the teenagers, lol. but there is a covered porch in front of that coop and 3 raised nesting boxes with free space underneath.
