International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

RedBank your comment about the BC cockerel is spot on .

the back ? sorry the saddle .between the shoulders .

you see when you look at the chooks in the right order from head to toes ,you seem to have a great knowledge about the BCM .

this is one reason make me spot thing on the chooks where others will miss .

When I looked at this pic I thought he had a crossed beak but I don't see it in any other picture. Maybe just the photo.

Don't tell me you didn't get post 1936, I worked so hard on it!

no RedBank I got the post but I can not forward your quote to comment on it .

I m impressed BRAVO

this way we all can comment on any chooks in the same order tell every body get it .

not looking at the comb after jumping at the feet than the eyes .
doesn t work that way .we need to learn to look at the chooks on the right way No just saying only the fault .

I did not see it yet . you are alright it is a crossed beak ( super recessive genes .) but mostly is caused by deficiency of mineral in the breeders stock .

William had it .his top part of his beak used grow so fast and cause the bottom one to move side way .
I had to trim his top part of his beak .

I don t worry about it he is not a show bird or sure but he will do magic in the correct breeding pen . I m 100% sure .

Quote: One more thing. You made this exercise easy because this cockerel is so nice. Might be interesting to give us a bird that doesn't belong to anyone or culled that would require our interpretation, with glaring or even subtle faults. Often I don't see the good in some of the posted pics that you do until you bring it to my attention. Sometimes I think I don't like a bird at all and I don't know what to say.

This is the cockerel we have been "describing" for Winterhorses (hope you don't mind me posting these pics). These were posted last month. I thought it would be interesting to see how he has changed side by side. He looks like my Antonio to me! No wonder I like him so much. These pics were on BCM thread. Winterhorses.... did you post them here? Can't remember.

You could tell he was going to be a good one, especially in that top photo. The more I see him the more I like him.

hi chickengr we hardly see you around ,you must be busy woman those days.

how is a little French chick is doing ?

any way the Black coming out of the Blue X Black =are really black Not Black carrying a Blue . they are just pure black as pure as the one coming out of Black X Black .

chooks man

thanks for the information.

I have been around but I am too tired and there are 30+ posts every morning/evening. I am busy as I have my parents visiting me and I also have some construction work around the house. I am about to make 2 new coops and runs.

the french baby is still in athens with the mother hen and the hatch mate. I might get them in about 10 days. then I will be able to get some photos.

btw, luna and marco are getting heavier and I am so glad about that. luna has a s-shape comb, I hope it will remain like that. I think her mother at that age already had a bent comb. I miss her, she was so sweet. luna, marco and mario are real pets. they all like to sit on my hands like kittens. that's why I cannot think about eating my chickens. they are wicked, they know it.
