Here is a pic I found online of carnation comb. The gene occurs in Marans as a result of people infusing their Marans with Penedesencas to darken egg color I've read.

It sure is! I joked with my neighbor who wanted one that they were the ugliest chickens I have ever raised. LOL. They are looking a little cuter as they grow out but they look like buzzards or something when younger.
But they will hopefully lay lovely Olive eggs.![]()
