I did look at the auction yesterday no marans on there. I don't even think GF has any Birchen available now. Edited: Greenfire farm does have them on the available list.

I am glad you found some nice Birchen, I won't be buying from GF.

I got in touch with Harvey Moore. I am getting 4 pullets and 2 cockerals. around 4 weeks old. I hope a couple will be Blue Birchen. It depends on if he has them available. He said it would be around March. Thank you, Keith

Chooks man, How long do I need to wait before I can collect eggs from my three BLCM hens. They have been with The 4 Marans roosters untill a few days ago. Thor was the main rooster in that pen. None of the Ameraucana roosters where in with them. They are the three hens in with Thor now.

I would wait at least 2 weeks after you moved the other males out to start collecting eggs to hatch to ensure the hens are "cleaned out" from the other cockerels' sperm in case they bred the hens. A hen will retain a male's sperm for quite some time, and one mating from a male will provide the hen with enough sperm to fertilize her eggs easily for a week on up to 2 weeks. That will ensure that the eggs you hatch are fathered by Thor and not the others. Good luck!
