Broodies, broodies, broodies! Most of my Marans have quit laying because they're all going broody! No sooner than I get 2-3 broken up, there are 2-3 more broody!

Yea, I'm fighting broodies too. Pain in the behind. lol

Ha ha! I was the lucky one. I had both Marans and a turkey hen broody at the same time.

Yes they are! Bless their hearts I wish I could give them some chicks but they have all sucked at taking care of babies this year. The only hen I've had that didnt lose her chicks has been a crele Game hen. I dont want to lose any more chicks than I have to, so thanks girls but no thanks, I'll brood them myself. Lol. And off to broody jail they go.

Broody turkeys.. I bet thats a big ol' mean ball of fun. I got hit by a Game hen earlier that thought I was a threat to her solo chick. She flogged my leg and foot.. several times. I can only imagine how mean a broody turkey would be! Lol

Well, I had a couple hens that drew blood. The turkey hen wasn't too bad. She just hissed and acted all tough.

My turkey hens aren't aggressive but I've always been very hands on with them. They trust me fully with their babies

Well, I rehomed all of this years hatch and one rooster today. They just wanted them for eggs and to make olive eggers. Tomorrow the rest of my adults are going. Still kind of sad! The end of one line. Here's to the beginning of a new line.

that's life. I should do the same thing or work with olive eggers myself.
