incubation #2 .start 2 hours ago . 90 marans eggs . all of them are selected recording to they shape Ovall ,size large and dark colour recording the the varieties .some have darker eggs them other . my # are the solid black and the Black copper .

I can not get the light alright .

new pairing today .so next week no eggs colection for incubating . the week after will be good .
Solid Black are separated from the Black copper and moved to they new pen /coop. built it over the weekend .

Black copper pairing . they staying in the same pen but with a rebuilt coop .bigger with a feeding station ,out of the eliment
4 BC pullets plus 1 BLC plus ! Splash copper .all from the same parent .half sisters ,they are paired to a Blue copper Cockerel Big Blue,half brother/brother from the same parent
dark eggs gene line .

Dominant White /Splash pullets . selected 10 best . correct type ,straight comb ,feathered shanks .lay nice shape egg colour 5 .some where 6 at the start .
paired the to they half brothers Splash ockerels 2 of them ,they are related to the pullets through they Dams ,the BL hens .{Liza s hens}. so they ll be inbred tto they Dams . trying to bring back the dark egg colour from they mothers . lost when they where mated to Stillone . { So Stillone is not a Dark egg genes carriers } so line breeding will bring the colour back .

looking forward to see they son s .I know they pullets progeny going to be stunning .a challenge is to produce some cockerels with a long back like they mama s . Because Black Mamba has a sorter back and a higher tail angle but a good tail .

Big Blue and his hens ,they are worming up to him .answring his call s

a problem with a Big Blue is his comb .very bad point .I like the shape of it and the texture but not the point all over the place .
his body type is sqaure too .boxy type and tail angle a little too hagh over 60degrees .

his strong point .priceless body pattern and good quality copper .good Stand and body shape . deep chest and correct legs .carries a dark eggs genes .

his 2 brothers have a better comb than his but they are lesser quality body wise and body marking . I ll breed from them too . dark eggs colour is my main goal .
