International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Darienne .big Black pullet. correct type . correct tail shape and angle, correct long back . correct deep chest .very wide from the rear and closer to the ground . she has some copper around her weattles . big comb .light shanks feathering .lay dark egg #6 well large .
Faults ; her comb is thinner and has a bod points all over the place .not a good texture .at leass it is straight .
her under fluff is a little lighter . need to be pure black .

breeding her to her sibling brother /half brother .line breeding to maintain the dark egg genes and keeping the correct body type.

Samir2 . gorgeous looking cockerel .best comb faultless . he ll be my main breeding cockerel for this trait . his comb is perfect . the lobe is so clean from any spliing or forking .well lifted from the head .10/10 comb .
I ll be using him a lot . lucky boy .
I like his stand .and his colour .splash with a lot blue and copper feathers .

I love to mate him to the solid black hens to fix they comb . they are not related ,so is going to be outcross mating . late this breeding season .

this are my new incubator .bought 2 of them today .I can not just wait for the cabinet incubator to arrive ,the best of the breeding season is now .early spring ,the chooks are healthy and the eggs are at they best .
those yellow new incubator are similare the the 2 green one I m using ,same brand ,the different is the new yellow incubator have some cacteria protection thing molded into they plastic .that what they are saying .
49 eggs cappacity .strong machine .

Unicorn Red Pyle pullet .great type .gorgeous dark ovall shape eggs she lays . mating her to solid black cockerel Black Mamba . my goal is to breed a solid dominant white marans .pure white
Unicorn has a correct body type ,correct long back and a correct tail shape and angle .
Black Mamba has correct body type with a shorter back and a higher tail angle .
the rest of the traits are equality muched ,except Unicorn has a correct comb .
looking forward to hatch some chicks from them .

Black Mamba Genome is E/ER , s+/s+. etc.............

they F1 progeny will be 25% each .pure white . Red Pyle. Solid Black and impure Black copper. I ll be keeping only the pure white and a solid Black .

this is a theory any way let see what will happen in reality . what mathore nature plans are?

this guy is my second BLC cockerel .gorgeous head and comb his 2 strongest point .plus dark egg genes ,the most important trait of them all .
i ll be using him to breed the comb .only few selected mating with a special hens Solid Black .
I ll get better photos of him soon . he has many bad trait ,short back ,luck of the shoulder colouring , high tail . square body type .
