I like him better also. I am hoping as he matures he might be better than all the rest. This is a slow maturing line. Slowest I have ever worked with.

good to hea .he has a better body type and length of legs for sure . keep him tell he mature ,if he turn up better than the original rooster than keep him as your man breeder .

how many older hens are you keeping?

I think I have 3 in that pen. I know one lays a light egg. The only problem is I don't know which one. I do know none of the light eggs went into the Incubator. I will for sure keep the one Black Birchen hen. The one blue and solid Black Birchen pullet. So 3 picked out so far.
 
I think this black Birchen with the bare back and the ripped comb is where the thin Birchens came from so I think cull.
I think Blue looks good. What do you think? She looks like the Blue pullet you like.

The small blue you can kind of see in one of the pictures is that Cuckoo. I only keep her for her awsome egg.

That would make different blood also. I think all three cockerels hatched out of pen #1. I still need to check wing bands to make sure.
