International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

@Acre4Me so at what age did they start laying - weeks, days?

they are 24 weeks and three days old today (hatched April 29). As best we can tell only 2 are laying eggs. The first egg was on Sept 29 - age 21weeks+6Days. The second one started yesterday. The third pullet hasn’t come into lay yet.

We have 2 black copper Marans and one blue copper Marans. We do have a light on in the coop in the early hours of the day to provide approx 14 hours of light total (bulb+natural light), which may have facilitated their POL in the fall, but maybe not as we only turned on the timer and light a few weeks ago.

the light for sure speed up they maturity .
very early 21 weeks +6 days = 22 weeks
usualy they start at 25 weeks and up .

@Chooks man Here is one Black Copper Maran - I think she is "mossy" in coloring - at least that is what others on here thought when I posted pics a couple of months ago. 24 weeks old.
