you are just on such a high alert . he still young ,the white will goes away for sure .his chest look great to me . will become more tidy and define when he grow older .
if you have better younger cockerels then him ,than it is ok to dismiss him .
you are ignoring how gorgeous is his copper and how advance is his shoulder coloration .
don t panic let him do more growing .

cockerel with early shoulder coloration will give daughter with a complete hackle as young age 6/7 weeks .

there is relation between shoulder coloration and chest marking ,both are controlled by Autossomal genes ,

Haha! If they are not perfect they are out of there! Lol I get a little worried when I see stuff like that this early. Blaze has complete shoulder pattern with minimal color on chest. He has some but not a lot and no shafting. Shame he is a bad boy.

if we are looking into copper quality and amount . this guy is all class .

they are called Black copper .NOT Black and he is true Black copper{ upper body all copper, lower part of the body all Black} . not black with some copper{ Black bird with some copper /gold in they hackles and lancets . no color in they shoulder or just a little .full black chest .very wrong .} . it is a big difference .
you have a good true BCM cockerels .

most BCM roosters/cockerels I see in the net from all forum and Clubs around the world are Black with some copper NOT true Black copper

don t stress .take it easy ,do only what can . don t force thing .we are passing { all the world} through hard times .
don t never forget after the winter ,there is summer . if you are not happy with a winter ,just wait for the summer ,because the winter will passes .nothing stay a same in this life .
if we can no do thing is Ok .we are here in life to live not to do things .

I like my chooks ,{ they cost me more money and time} but they make me enjoy life better .I relax around them . it is better for my well been .

you did the first part of the breeding/hatching .NOW you are doing the second part . relax ,let them grow and select as you go .,they change so much ,
I learned this time after I tagged all my favorite chicks with they fancy leg ring .because I thought they where great .
turn up it is not true .most of them turn up to be not good after all .
the ones I did not tug .I did not think they where good ,they turn up to be nice when they reached 6 months mark , better than the one I selected . not all .

from now on I will not select before 4/6 months .
there is always the obvious cull that for sure . need to go early .

Storm ended up a lot nicer than I thought. She is a original hen. She is really nice and lays a nice round egg with good color. That is my next thing is getting better color and round eggs.

good to know .it is very simple . now you know her eggs .mark her chicks ,select the best cockerel and breed him back to her next year .that will reinforce the dark egg genes .and help you to start a dark egg layer line .
