International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

This may be a dumb question.
Reading through this site, i read a post about chicken feet.

If the outer toe is much shorter than the others, then the line has been inbread too much and you need to bring in a new line to your breeding program.

Is there any truth to this?
Looking at my chicks toes, the outer feathered toe is much, much shorter than the others.

Dont laugh at me you guys :) Just curious. Ive never bread to SOP before. Just raised and ate em.

Some body must had lot free time to compare all the Toes of they chicks.
ah!!!! They’re getting darker!

the spotted egg is from my nicer pullet. The dark egg is the solid black with extra cushion. I think I’ll probably keep her around anyway with an egg like this!

Very nice. Worth breeding the black pullet. Dark eggs is the most important marans traits
