And the pullet from line#2 with the most copper is also looking too bright also?

Its hard to get an accurate picture.

I guess my question is, if these 2 cockerels end up with halos (which im pretty sure they will have), can i breed them to my darker hens and have balanced offspring?

I might be too tired or semi blind but these birds look good to me. you can always breed darker hens to them in order to get better coloured offspring.

In person, their hackles look very orange. Because they are only 16 weeks and have that brightness, i am assuming it will get even lighter not darker.

But i certainly know what happens when i assume....

As always, i will have to wait a few more months i suppose.

Maybe you're camera is not capturing the colours correctly. I can see flames on their hackles but not a halo. They look nice.

My line #2 are growing out nicely.
The copper is not as rich as line #1.
I think i will have a halo issue with them. Almost 16 weeks and the 2 cockerels have very bright halo-ish hackles.

I’m not really seeing a halo on either cockerel. They’re are still young so their adult hackles are not fully grown out yet. I like their size - chunky - they are wide thru the chest and their back lengths look good. Tails are at good angles. Personally I like the darker shade of copper.

A Cock or Cockerel bred to a Hen with a well colored darker copper hackle should help with eliminating the halo in the male offspring.
