Here's my Black Copper Marans first 4 eggs! They are still getting darker of course. I think I might put these in the incubator!

if she turn p to be a dark eggs layer ,than breed her and keep only pullets from her . because she will not pass the golden hackle to them ,they get they color type from they sire .
hen only passes her gene color to her sons .

Good info.
Does this also hold true when it comes to white underfluff on the roosters?

Is this why you told me to hatch out these eggs and only keep the pullets?

yes my friend . all part of breeding the sex linked genes out by selecting only pullets to breed from and mate them to a different cockerels lines . by doing so we do not breed the good traits out ,because we selecting pullets .we can see they eggs color .
pullets are easy to breed than cockerels .just most peoples want to breed cockerels .not for the novice breeders for sure .
