International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Just checking in.
We are still moving everything to the new place.
All the chickens and coops are moved. That was some crazy, stressful stuff!

Coops are in place and the property has an 8x16 run-in shed I am using to house all the marans together until I get their runs rebuilt and attached to their coops. They are all getting along fine which I was not expecting. Thats a plus.

I will be back when I get everything situated properly.

The new line of Marans I hatched out are beautiful. Even though it looked like all cockerels, there are actually only 4 out of 9.

Cant wait to share some pictures with you!

Be well everyone!

Hi everyone,

I hope all of your breeding and incubating went well bringing you nearer to the desired SOP Marans and of course their eggs.

Just to show you how important the right rooster is: The eggs on the left side are from the three pullets hatched last May, their weight already 64-70 grams.

any feedback on my BCM? Not sure if it's a pullet or a cockrel. Also any general feedback on the breed quality? The chick is around 4 weeks old.View attachment 2631278View attachment 2631279
