International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Yeah she was relaxed, usually the tail is a bit higher. Don’t know how the black pullet inherited yellow legs because everything else about her seems like she’s from a fantastic line of birds. It is recessive I suppose, but still a big shame. What do you think I should do in terms of breeding her, because the recessive yellow leg gene may be a pain in the future?

Also any ideas for the best breeding solutions for these three birds, preferably using only one pen this year until I can make some space for more pens?
Yes you can breed from them in one breeding pen as long as you mark the eggs . We want to make sure we know the mother of each chicks hatched to be able to breed out the fault and the recessive yellow legs .
From the blue hen we will get a lot chicks with high tail but they will be big and nicely coloured with a correct leg.
From the black hen we will get some chicks with a good tail angle . We will not get yellow legs chicks except if the cockerel is a carrier of the yellow legs genes.

I am hatching between 15 to 30 a week right now of silver based Marans, and they are selling as fast as I can hatch them. I hope that people appreciate them as much as you guys do! My daughter's splash pen had some good numbers a few weeks. I kept last week and 2 weeks ago batches for the growouts, this week is up for grabs and is already half gone and they hatched yesterday! I haven't really even advertised, it is just word of mouth right now. Some of the black silvers this year are looking really good, and there's even a few brown head spot chicks showing up.

Thee are a few roosters in there, I can take pictures tomorrow. We plan on building more pens this year so I can separate more, smaller groups and have less big groups. The splash/white pen is 6 hens and one rooster, the other pen is bigger group that will be pared down to smaller pens when I get the chance to make more pens.
