Ok thanks...I planned on keeping any males til 19-20 weeks at least. I'll be posting lots of pics as this this cross is fascinating to watch for me just having BCMs only until now, besides the hybrids.

Confused by this...these 7 are from Gold x Silver.

As in you could use one of these males (golden) to breed F2 pullets, just don’t keep any silver pullets from these F2s as the silver will get ruddy.

And any S/s+ cockerels you get rid of will hopefully sell well due to the unusual colour for marans. The contrast of BSMs with the vibrancy of BCMs.

here photos of marans chicks I hatched before Xmas ,rundom breeding 10 rooster diferent varieties most of them BCM with 120 hens , only picked the darkest eggs to incubate ,when they hatched I gave them to a broody hens to look after them for me ,they did great job .I had 65 but a Dog attach NY day killed 2 hens with 25 chicks , so I left with 40 chicks , now they are 5 month old ,many colour but mostly black //BC/Blue copper and Splash ,plus few other colour ,

All black face, the one @wrathsfarm liked in the picture of it sat under the broody looking grumpy.

The best type of the BCMs, wide at the rear and long. Fuller wings than 09.

May more feathers than the others, has tail and back feathers growing in and long wings. Long body but narrower at rear than 10. Palest face with eyebrows.

Chicks 09-11 are all BCMs and from Loki x Chanel.

Chick 12, DCM pullet, named Mole. Body not as long as the BCMs but deep.

Chick 13, DCM cockerel, Wellington.
Chunky with nice, clear barring growing in. The barring is pale blue, not white, as specified by the standard.

The BCMs all need name suggestions so anyone is welcome.
