Seems to me she's saying: "Gimme that camera, I want to taste it. Or do you have other treats for me?"

She's adorable! It sounds like she's trying to be polite and ask for treats but you can hear it in her voice when it get a little more urgent because you're too slow [IMG] My daughter and I both think it sounds like she says "treats-for-me?" in each series of honks too. What a cute goose!

Chinese geese are very chatty, as are Africans. Mine (Africans) were always doing this to me, usually they wanted their breasts scratched [IMG] When they wanted treats the whole neighborhood knew it....and our closest neighbor is 1/2 mile away! [IMG]

Seems to me like she was telling you more please, more please, I am being patient here. I have 4 Toulouse geese, have only had them for several months, and it really amazes me how well they communicate and how well I am starting to understand them! I can tell when they are feeling threatened by a potential preditor, when its another animal or an unknown human, when they are hungry, when the water in their pool is getting too shallow, or when they just want to socialize and play. Of course, I am right there everytime they start honking, but I am realizing that different honks at different pitches/frequencies and rythms all have their own meaning, very interesting for sure! I do spend several hours in the kitchen cooking and baking everyday and whenever I am in there, they come by the window, make faint honking noises to get my attention, and when I look at the window, there they all are, trying to peer inside the window. I will sneak out the back door to find all four of them looking underneath the house to see if they can see me on the otherside of the house and when they become aware that I am right there, they quickly stand up straight as if to say that they werent looking for me, then casually come walking over to greet me as if they were surprised to find me standing there. Actually, they are probably thinking that they have me trained very well! [IMG]

I love goose talk.. Goslings and adults alike- they all sound gorgeous. I have a young brown Chinese goose at the moment who is still sweet and cuddly. I hope it grows into a chatty adult like yours. SO CUTE!! [IMG]
