hey
frow.gif
, i'm doing a report on chickens for a school project and i wanted to interview people about their chickens/behavior. i figured it would be more interesting than just plain old facts from a computer or book

here are the questions for chicken owners:
1) do you enjoy having chickens?
2) how do your chickens interact with you/your family

i would like if you would put at least some of your name (for giving credit), like first and last initial or something, but you don't have to put your whole name if you don't want to

thanks a bunch

There have been some great threads where people tell about their chickens. You might be able to find a TON of data by doing a search.

hi there! welcome!!! my name is Lisa Bell, i live in tombstone, az

here are the questions for chicken owners:
1) do you enjoy having chickens? I love having chickens, everyday my kids and I go outside to water and feed all of them. my daughter who is 3 loves to collect the eggs and she loves to help water and feed. She also likes to carry around our really gentle cochin roosters. Chickens are so much fun to watch! Give them a worm and watch them play football!
2) how do your chickens interact with you/your family?
I have 4 very sweet roosters who will let you hold them and love them, my daughter gets to hold them alot. They even talk to us when we walk by. Our other chickens werent hand raised so they only like us if we have treats!

let me know if you have any other questions!

Gretchen

1) yes i enjoy having chickens

2) when the chickens see us they come running...expecting treats I suppose. they talk to us and have different languages for things. my 2 lil girls (7 & 3) help tend to them...often helping find bugs with their shovels in hand...and hand feeding them. right now we are having chicks hatch in our incubator....the girls can't wait to be able to hold and handle them...and at times they peep very loudly at us.

1. I love having my chickens! They are way more fun than I had ever expected.

2. The chickens come when they are called. (Treats work wonders as a 'training" method!) They run toward the driveway when a car pulls up! And we have an alarm rooster who crows wildly whenever a man he does not know comes into the yard!!

1) do you enjoy having chickens? I thoroughly love having chickens. Themake our breakfast, make us laugh, they are loveable and funny!!

2) how do your chickens interact with you/your family? We interact with them - they are cooped for safety reason, but we love to go out there and watch them play chicken rubgy with a whole tomato!

1) do you enjoy having chickens?
Good Goddess, YES!!!
2) how do your chickens interact with you/your family?
Obelisk will peck on the window when she wants to go out. If I'm sick and in bed, she'll come up and lay down with me. Slifer used to pull at the covers until I patted her. Slifer used to like to watch TV. Obelisk would rather be outside. They knew their names and come when they're called.

editted for bad spelling sheesh...

1. Yes I enjoy having chickens. I believe that having chickens is a stress reducer!

2. I have five six-week old chicks, they allow me to pick them up & will sit and "talk" to me. If someone else in the family holds them, they make the most unpleasant noises. I never knew that chickens could make me smile so much.

Yes I enjoy my chickens because of their funny antics, their unique personalities, they give me eggs and are a great source of stress relief. Petting a loved chicken is like petting the family dog and I believe it has all the same health benefits.
