I thought you were going to live in Romania?
Well done for passing the inspection.
Yeah, that made it also quite a bit hard to ask for this permission. Since it might not even be needed for long. It felt a bit like lieing. People going on hassles (as volunteers) to come to you and print out forms etc. to give you a permission, getting involved with other fowl-breeders, while you might not be here so long anymore..
But we decided to do it. Because A. Wherever we live we want to hold up the high breed standards. B. We can still keep in contact with breeders from the Netherlands (and it would be quite easier then the German and Italian we do now have contact with because it is our mothertongue) And exchanging ducks/eggs and attending meetings will still be an option (we need to be back in the Netherlands anyway) C. They can teach us much. We can better learn that now then not. D. Due to lack of interest in fowl-keeping becoming more European is unavoidable. The last time this national fowl club saw a Indian runner duck is 5 years ago. In Germany it is still really popular. Over here it is dieing.
I think the man that did the interview was a person that it was a good choice that my male partner was not available. But I also think I did not even had a chance to be not accepted because of it all dieing out, member count is low, let alone getting 'younger' members. He seemed to really like to share our common interest in fowl. He had brahma's and a big hate of Chaamse hoen chicken breed...brahma's were the best, my uncle is the owner of the Chaamse hoen chicken breed foundation, that he did not knew offcourse :') I had to laugh and told him that. But also that I never had chicken and I can understand people like different breeds and I'm not angry that you don't like my uncles #1 hobby, each their own (And I don't know much about chickens). And why brahma's and not the Chaamse hoen? I then learned about some chicken breeds that tend to fly up way higher then others, and apparently that is a thing. He likes Brahma's because he does not have to build a full enclosure. And that he likes how fat brahma's look. (my impretation of his words, he used kinder words). But I love that! I'm really interested in what people brings them to certain breeds; what it made them love them. And he also had a lot of usefull information.
I allmost thinking of becoming a volunteer for their graphic design because that was some 40 years off.. because it quite clicked well. But first maybe meet the other uuh.. 51 members. (51... it's really dieing off.. that's doves/chicken/waterfowl/every other fowl/ guinea pigs/rats/mouses/hamsters.. on millions of people..) =/
