Good Morning!
We have three 7 week old polish hens that we adopted at 5 days old. We are already so in love with them. We have SCOURED this website looking for answers to so many of our "new chicken parent" questions and so far every single question we've had has been answered here. LOVE THIS SITE! Thank you all.

You would call your girls pullets until they are one year old. Hens are female chickens at least a year old.

If you haven't already found it, I would highly recommend taking a peek in the learning center in articles!

Also, I would watch your chickens carefully, seeing how polish are usually better for people who have experience in chickens, since they come with more responsibility with their delicate heads.

Hi & :welcome

Glad you could join us here! Great to hear you have found BYC so helpful :clap I too keep polish, I have 8 at the moment. Lovely little friendly breed but not without the extra problems & work though. What colour are yours?

Good luck for the future & enjoy your time here on BYC :frow

Hello! We have 2 silver laced (Irene and Loretta) and one golden laced (Sally). What type of problems have you had with your polish? I know they have trouble seeing once their head feathers are all grown in but I haven't really heard about many other issues with them.
