Intro Story of an Emu Addict

Hi from Eastern Ontario, Canada. Sounds like you have lived an interesting life. Like you, I am happily retired and living in the country. I have ducks now, and help with daughter's chickens and peacocks. Our plan is to buy more land in a few years and expand our critters. Emus is definitely something we will be looking at. I hope I can keep in contact to get your advice.

:welcome Hello from NS🇨🇦 and welcome to BYC! You’ve joined a great and resourceful community! Enjoy your journey!!! Your birds and eggs are beautiful! You’ve had quite life indeed, so glad you’re able to get back to the life you love. Emu life!

Welcome I love Emus as well, never had the pleasure of owning one. But was considering it. Are they like chickens where you can hatch one with a bad personality/overly dominant? Or if you hatch and hand raise they will be pleasant beings? The fear of getting a mean one has kept me from incubating my own.

Hi!! :frow I loved your introduction! You're a very good writer, errrrr typer :p you type just fine. That's really cool how you came to having emus but my heart sank when you mentioned your DH passing and then your accident shortly after. Seems like ending up with your two emus was a blessing and here you are!
That egg is hatching, wow! Soooo eggciting. You must share pictures! :D
Also, thank you for serving in the military 💜

Welcome to BYC Lisa, Thank you for joining the flock. Pyxis has always been the "go to person," for emus to me. If you want information on them - she's the one to ask. That is not the limit of her knowledge, she also has some stunning pigeon varieties.
