White Leghorns are the popular white egg layer if you want white eggs. There are many brown egg layers out there as well. Rhode Island Reds are the only brown egg layers I personally wouldn't go with, their aggressive personality can be somewhat intimidating to Easter Eggers who are more of a submissive breed.

If you can find them, barred hollands are a lot more docile then leghorns and lay a fair amount of white eggs.
